THE IRON MAIDENS Part Ways With BRUCE CHICKINSON, Vow To Carry On
March 7, 2004THE IRON MAIDENS, one of the best-known IRON MAIDEN tribute bands in existence (featuring members of the long-running Los Angeles hard rock band PHANTOM BLUE),have parted ways with vocalist Jenny Warren (a.k.a. Bruce Chickinson).
"Up until this time we have tried to keep things under tight lip to avoid any uncomfortable feelings that might be involved in this matter until we had things resolved and things calmed down a little regarding some recent events," the band wrote in an online posting. "We have been getting questions from a lot of people about this subject and just want to confirm what you may (or may not) have heard. Jenny Warren is no longer involved with THE IRON MAIDENS. She announced her departure to us in the middle of recording our tribute album (thus the recording is still not complete at this time). After paying tribute to MAIDEN for over four years, she expressed a need to focus more on her personal and child's needs as we can fully understand and completely respect. We wish Jenny a happy future and all the best in whatever path she chooses. FEAR NOT MAIDEN lovers!!! THE IRON MAIDENS will continue to pay homage to our favorite band of all time, IRON MAIDEN! We hope to have your continued support! It is, after all, all about the MUSIC!!!!!!!! Spread the word!!!!! Up the Bloody Irons Baby!!!! Stay tuned for details on what's next…"
As previously reported, Warren will be performing with WRATHCHILD, the Los Angeles-based IRON MAIDEN tribute band featuring former SINERGY/NEW EDEN bassist Melanie Sisneros (a.k.a. Steve Heiress),DREAMS OF DAMNATION/HANGAR 18 drummer Dave Chedrick, CREEPING DEATH guitarist James "Dave Moore-y" Moore, and PROPHECY guitarist John "Virtual Adrian" Leighton, at MetalJam 2004, a benefit event taking place on April 10 at Hogue Barmichael's in Newport Beach, California. Proceeds from MetalJam 2004 will go to the Cure Autism Now! Foundation. Says Melanie, "We'll be playing MAIDEN tunes spanning the band's career, including tunes I've never played before with either WRATHCHILD or THE IRON MAIDENS."
